More Information |
Area Information : The George Hotel & Brasserie is situated in Stone Street, which is in the centre of Cranbrook. Cranbrook is known as the capital of the Weald of Kent and is the hub of rural life in the area. The town offers a delightful retreat from the bustling city and is ideally located for staying in Kent and exploring the Kent and Sussex countryside and seaside. Cranbrook''s character and charm owes a lot to the medieval layout of its streets and alleys, as well as the typical Wealden architecture featured along its 2 main roads. The town has numerous buildings of interest dating from the 14th Century. Along the main high street, visitors will find an array of gift, antique and specialist shops. Other places of interest include an art gallery, a farmers market, golf courses, vineyards, fisheries and Bentleys Fine Art Auctioneers.
Cranbrook is also ideally located for discovering the many attractions in the surrounding areas in Kent and Sussex, including Bodiam Castle, Chapel Down Vineyard, Scotney Castle Garden and Estate, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens and Leeds Castle, Maidstone. The towns of Maidstone and Royal Tunbridge Wells are also within easy reach. With the hotel as a comfortable and luxurious base, you could also experience the natural beauty of Bewl Water Reservoir, Camber Sands and Bedgebury National Pinetum.
